A-2 Tool Steel - high vanadium steel
A2 tool steel is an air hardened grade steel containing 5% chromium.
A2 is known for its good toughness and excellent dimensional stability in heat treatment. These characteristics make it a multifunctional tool steel with good performance and price.
A2 steel is somewhere between oil-hardened and D2 high-carbon, high-chromium tool steel.
